Before servicing your G5 compressor’s separator canister, verify that the unit is completely isolated from electrical power via lockout/tagout procedures and that the system pressure gauge reads exactly 0 PSI. When mounting the new 1837004762 filter canister, apply a light smear of fresh synthetic compressor oil to the clean rubber face gasket. Hand-tighten the canister until the rubber makes firm contact with the aluminum mounting plate, then give it a final 3/4 turn by hand. Avoid using heavy chain or strap wrenches to tighten the filter, as over-tightening can crush the internal anti-static clips or warp the metal canister shell.
