The Angle Body Piston Valve (8290A060) is a high-performance ASCO 2-Way, Normally Closed valve engineered for demanding fluid control applications. This valve features a 1-1/4 inch FNPT (Female National Pipe Taper) port size and a robust stainless steel body, providing excellent corrosion resistance.
As an air-operated valve, it functions by substituting a piston operator in place of a solenoid, operating similarly to a solenoid valve but driven by pneumatic pressure (air) rather than electricity. It is a normally closed (NC) valve, meaning it remains in a closed position, preventing flow, until an air pilot signal actuates it to open.
The valve is designed with a straight-through body design, which contributes to its high flow capacity, indicated by a Flow Coefficient (Cv) of 32. It features a PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) seal material, offering superior chemical compatibility and durability, making it suitable for a wide range of media including air, inert gas, water, oil, light slurries, steam, and hot water.
This valve can handle fluid temperatures up to a maximum of 366°F (185°C). It operates with a minimum fluid operating pressure of 0 psi, a fluid differential pressure up to 240 psi, and a steam differential pressure up to 150 psi. The pilot pressure range is 60-150 psi. The 90 mm operator size ensures reliable and responsive actuation. The valve is designed for ambient temperatures between 15°F and 140°F.
